I did my research on immunizations, and read the scientific literature and studies. The fact of the matter is, vaccines are way safer than getting the diseases. We have a short memory, I think, for some reason, about how horrible these diseases were for so many years, and how many lives they affected. Ultimately, every parent want what is truly best for their child. You want to keep your child safe. I have to wonder why people would take the chance of their child ending up permanently disabled or in an iron lung from polio, or get brain damage from the measles, or meningitis from mumps, or a multitude of other complications from these diseases.
It's hard to watch your child cry after getting shots, and getting shots yourself is never fun, but think of it this way: a few seconds of pain is so much better (and safer) than the alternative.
