Vaccines are an incredibly safe way to prevent dread diseases that kill and maim children and now adults. It’s the best primary prevention around. I learned that growing up in the age of polio. Becoming a pediatric nurse in the 1960s, I got to see first hand the ravages of these diseases, of caring for children who suffered and/or died from them. I never want to see any child suffer like that again. I am horrified hearing about the suffering and death from COVID. In all the years I’ve been a nurse, I have never once seen an anaphylactic or other life-threatening or a life altering reaction to a vaccine. The science supports my experiences.
