I’ve been a NICU RN for over 40 years working with the vulnerable immune compromised newborns. I feel it is essential to protect them, and others, by ensuring they are safe and from exposure to illnesses that are preventable. Having been in medicine for so many years, I know vaccines are safe. I understand proper research. I believe in science and how it is applied. I have never seen a significant adverse event after vaccination in the population I cared for. Sometimes the babies become irritable or run a low grade fever. My own one year old daughter had a terrible case of chickenpox years back. She was very sick and miserably uncomfortable. I wish the vaccine had been available to prevent her from this suffering. I have been on multiple third world medical mission trips and am grateful for the unique vaccines I received prior to those trips that kept me safe.
